Steven Lopez is the Properties Artisan at Yale Repertory Theatre. Originally from Miami Florida he holds an Associate’s degree in Architecture from Miami Dade College and Magna Cum Laude Bachelors in Fine Arts in Theatrical Design at Florida International University, designing for over 10 realized productions within his 3 years attending he was accepted into the Honors and Golden Key Society, and became the region IV Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival First place recipient for the South Eastern Theater Conference in Technical design and crafts Prop-weaponry, design excellence award of scenic design, and the Inaugural Student Choice award.
He has built props for the Texas Shakespeare theater, Orlando Repertory Theater, Pyro and Stage Technician at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, contractor at Ransom Everglades in coconut grove and Hialeah Gardens. Outside of theater he has been an independent and commercial film maker, display builder, photographer, Actor and Extra for commercials and shows like A&E’s The Glades, a cartographer for Festivals such as the Taste of Cuba and even dispatched Boeing 747’s at the Miami International Airport prior to his design career. Outside of theater and movies he also enjoys cosplay, video games, table top games, traveling around the globe and exploring the outdoors. He lives in Connecticut with his now wife Claudia and their dog Natsu.
