Sophie Siegel-Warren

Sophie Siegel-Warren is a dramaturg and educator. She received her BA from Carleton College, where she studied English with a focus in dramatic literature and documentary performance, and her M.F.A. from David Geffen School of Drama in Dramaturgy and Dramatic Criticism with a certificate in Theater Management. Her comprehensive areas of study are in the dramaturgy of otherness in Shakespeare and contemporary documentary drama. Before coming to Yale, Sophie mentored high school students and supervised AmeriCorps members at College Possible, a Minnesota-based nonprofit that supports first-generation students as they prepare for and enroll in college. Sophie has previously served as a Mentor and Teaching Artist for the Dwight/Edgewood Project, an Artistic Associate at the Yale Cabaret, and a volunteer instructor with the August Wilson Monologue Competition. Her dramaturgy credits include Cadillac Crew (World Premiere, Yale Repertory Theatre); Trouble in Mind, The Winter’s Tale, and Sweat (David Geffen School of Drama); The Purple Flower, Fuck Her, and The Silent Sex (Yale Cabaret); Near the Krummholz (Women’s Voices in Theater Festival). Her producing credits include Camille: A Tearjerker and AVITAL (Yale Cabaret). She is currently a D.F.A. Proposal Candidate at David Geffen School of Drama.
