Shainn Reaves

Shainn Reaves started at David Geffen School of Drama in January 2016. Prior to relocating to New Haven, she worked in a domestic violence safe-house for five years as the Administrative Assistant, and was later promoted to Case Manager/Housing Advocate, assisting victims of domestic violence with leaving their abusive situations, becoming self-efficient, and obtaining safe and affordable housing. Shainn received the Certificate of Achievement from the Women of Color Network, Family Violence Prevention & Services Act, and the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence, and the yearly Exceptional Service Award from the New Jersey Association on Correction. Shainn worked in different administrative positions as the Senior Financial Secretary within the Charlotte Mecklenburg School District and as the Court and Deputy Court Administrator within the New Jersey Judicial System. Shainn loves spending time with her family, going on nature walks, writing, and music.
