Manuel was born in 1985 in Buenos Aires. He studied Architecture at Universidad de Buenos Aires and Animation at Universidad del Cine. In 2010, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an Experimental Animation MFA at California Institute of the Arts.
His work stems from a broad background, including fine arts, live video performance, science and video games. Manuel’s audio-visual language includes animation (hand-drawn, stop-motion, experimental), collages, drawing, and motion graphics, and is rich in sound design.
Since 2018, Manuel has been a member of the video team at the Museum of Modern Art in New York specializing in animation of artwork and archival material for documentary videos. His animations have been part of operas at Lincoln Center in New York, at Sydney Opera House, and the LA Opera. His title sequence for the film Sins of My Father has been awarded Best Use of Animation at the 2010 Telly Awards. His short film Cocoon has been awarded Best Editing at the Seattle Fashion Film Festival in 2017.
