Joey Moro is a designer, a creator, and an educator. He designs lighting, projection, and scenery, and has designed over 150 productions in NYC, regionally, and abroad. He is a production photographer, a videographer, a director of photography, animator, content creator, 3D artist, projection engineer, system designer, and a custom fabricator. He has worked on and off Broadway, with major ballet companies, on arena tours, at multiple museums, on art installations, and on large scale live events around the world.
His business, Moro Media, specializes in custom media solutions for live entertainment. He has build media server deployments for some of the largest ballet companies and museums in the country, and dozens of off-broadway shows at the same time. He aims to support small innovative productions that need enhancement, as well as massive media projects looking for an effective solution. The goal is always the same, create the most reliable and efficient solution as possible, tailored to each unique case.
As an educator, Joey has taught at Cornell University, Syracuse Drama, and is an Associate Professor at BerkleeNYC, a Lecturer at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale, and a Lecturer at NYU Tisch. Joey aims to teach high level skills through understanding of the background and core concepts, as a vehicle to the answers. Associative thinking in the related fields is key.
