David Budries chairs the Sound Design department for David Geffen School of Drama at Yale. He has created numerous sound designs for Broadway, Off Broadway, and American regional theaters, including: Hartford Stage, Baltimore Center Stage, Ford’s Theatre, Dallas Theater Center, South Coast Repertory, McCarter Theatre, Westport Country Playhouse, Huntington Theatre Company, La Jolla Playhouse, Trinity Rep, Alliance Theatre and Yale Repertory Theatre. He is the owner of Sound Situation, an independent production studio specializing in the creation of sound scores and music for the performing arts, including numerous CDs, NPR radio broadcasts, and museum installations. He is a member of AES, OISTAT, USITT and TSDCA. He also chairs the USA 829 Eastern Region Sound Design Exam Committee. Mr. Budries’ work has been recognized with three Connecticut Critics Circle awards, three Los Angeles Drama-Logue Awards, the Michael Merritt Award for Excellence in Design and Collaboration and with a nomination for the LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards.
