YSD alumni snag 13 nominations and three wins at the Emmys.
On July 28, 2020, the nominations for the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards were announced, including 13 nominations for 11 YSD graduates—two each for Angela Bassett ’83, DFA ’18, YC ’80 and Tom Broecker ’92. On September 20, a week-long virtual celebration concluded with wins for Yahya Abdul-Mateen II ’15, Broecker, and Eugene Lee ’86.
