Kirk Lynn is one of six co-producing artistic directors of Rude Mechs theater collective. With the Rudes Kirk has written and adapted more than a dozen plays, including Lipstick TracesStop Hitting Yourself, and The Method Gun, which premiered at the 34th Annual Humana Festival of New American Plays in the spring of 2010. Next up for the Rudes, FIELD GUIDE, commissioned by Yale Repertory Theatre. Kirk is also working with composer Peter Stopchinski on a new opera about Bum Phillips: Cowboy, Coach, Christian, for Monk Parrots. Kirk’s most recent play, Your Mother’s Copy of the Kama Sutra, premiered at Playwrights Horizons in NYC in April of 2014. Kirk received his M.F.A. from the Michener Center for Writers and is currently at work on a novel about a wilder George Washington called Cherry Trees.
