Benjamin Pfister

Lecturer in Stage Management

Benjamin E. C. Pfister is a New York-based stage manager working primarily on Broadway and in the regionals as a first assistant stage manager. Ben’s pedagogy focuses on value-based practices with fluid team dynamics, and centers on the unique contribution of assistants, production assistants, and substitute stage managers to a team. Current projects include first assistant stage manager on the Broadway revival of Purlie Victorious, directed by Kenny Leon and starring Leslie Odom, Jr. Recently, Ben was a substitute stage manager for Wicked, Kimberly Akimbo, A Strange Loop, and Topdog Underdog. Other Broadway credits include A Soldier’s Play, The Rose Tattoo, Choir Boy, and Carousel. Regional credits include Berkeley Repertory Theatre (Goddess), The Public Theater (As You Like ItMuch Ado About Nothing, and Merry Wives), Northern Stage (Spamalot), Yale Repertory Theatre (Imogen Says NothingPeerless, and Scenes from Court Life), Weston Theater (Pump Boys and Dinettes), and Dorset Theater Festival. Ben received his MFA from David Geffen School of Drama at Yale.
